Tiles are largely used in bathrooms and kitchens, mostly because of their durability and capacity to resist to humidity. However, they can also be used for other projects as well, like staircases for example. Today we’re not going to talk about simple tiles but of patterned tiles that are a little more difficult to match and that are harder to choose.
Here are some projects that involve such tiles and that you can use as inspiration. Notice how different styles can be mixed and different patterns can be put together to form a harmonious composition. There are no rules as for how to mix and match them. All you have to do is use your imagination and creativity.
The tiles you see here are made by and they are available in a wide range of patterns and colors. There are also several materials to choose from and they vary from stone to terra cotta. There’s also a collection of antique tiles available, in case you want to adopt a different style.
These have been salvaged from Tunisian buildings. The patterns from all the tiles are inspired by Moroccan, Italian, Renaissance, Art Deco and Modern designs and they ca be combined in all sorts of ways. When mixing tiles you should keep in mind the colors and the textures and try to come up with a pleasant combination. You can always go the other way around and create a contrasting design. It’s all up to you.
